Form and Function
What makes design work?
This personal project gave me the chance to really put both my motion design and graphic design skills to the test. While studying at VFS, I spent four months developing it as my Motion Design grad project—a 50-second explainer aimed at young design students and creatives just beginning their journey.
I wanted it to stand out from the usual explainer videos, so I gave it a personal tone—narrating it myself and shaping a story that captured the spirit of Bauhaus in a fresh and engaging way. The piece blends 2D visuals with 3D animation, creating a dynamic mix that keeps things visually sharp and in constant motion.

From an art direction perspective, this piece takes cues directly from Bauhaus design principles—focusing on simplicity, clarity, and form. We leaned into the idea of “less is more,” building the visual language around clean geometric shapes and a tightly reduced color palette of red, blue, yellow, black, and white. These core Bauhaus colors helped create a striking, structured look, while the use of simple forms allowed us to push complexity through animation instead of design clutter. The result is a piece that feels bold, minimal, and intentional—true to the spirit of Bauhaus.
